During the third quarter of 2024, the performance of the leading carpooling and ridesharing apps in the United Arab Emirates showcased interesting trends. Data sourced from Sensor Tower reveals varying patterns in app downloads and active users across the top five apps.

Careem – rides, food & more saw weekly downloads starting at around 18.8K in early July, with a noticeable increase to approximately 19.7K by the end of September. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly, beginning at 83K and peaking at about 87.5K mid-September before settling at 81.8K.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a relatively stable download pattern, starting at 9K and closing the quarter with 9K downloads. Active users showed remarkable consistency, averaging around 280K throughout the quarter.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a decline in downloads, beginning at 5.8K and decreasing to approximately 4.2K by the quarter's end. Active user numbers also saw a slight decrease, from 15.7K to 16.2K across the same period.

inDrive. Save on city rides faced a downward trend in downloads, starting at 6.1K and tapering off to 4.4K. Active users showed a stable pattern, maintaining around 42K throughout the quarter.

Yango: taxi, food, delivery exhibited a significant rise in downloads, starting at 4K and surging to approximately 11.7K by the end of September. Active users mirrored this upward trend, increasing from 15.2K to 24.4K during the same period.
